About Mad River Taste

For many small and emerging Makers and Growers; branding and marketing lags behind the artisanal quality of their products resulting in a lack of connection with potential consumers.

Mad River Taste is the local marketing program supporting Makers and Growers located in the valleys, the hill farms and mountain forests along the Mad River.

Mad River Taste Place

The Mad River Taste Place supports our community’s Makers and Growers through a curated experience where visitors can learn about, sample and purchase food and beverages that originate in the Mad River region and from all corners of Vermont. Stories about the Makers and Growers are told throughout the Taste Place and customers can connect directly with the producers at tasting events

Simply put, the job of Mad River Taste and the Mad River Taste Place is to help our community’s Makers and Growers sell more food and beverages by telling their stories about the inspiration, creation, terroir and superior quality of their products.

Organic and sustainably grown vegetables, fruits, meats and eggs are the cornerstone of the Waitsfield Farmers' Market.

Mad River Food Hub

Mad River Taste is a natural outgrowth of the Mad River Food Hub, a fully equipped, licensed vegetable and USDA inspected meat processing facility a short walk from the Taste Place. Started by Robin Morris in 2012, the Food Hub gives aspiring entrepreneurs an affordable way to test the viability of their food and drink creations in compliance with USDA and FDA regulations as they work to grow their market.

Charcuterie is one of the many value-added products made at the Mad River Food Hub.
